The Page Program was the first regimental program for new recruits started in the Band. It began as an off shoot from the already established Squire program in the Cavalry and since and grown.

PAGE PROGRAM:

The main goal of the Page program is twofold: First is to involve new members of the Cavalry in the Cavalry and the Band, helping them to keep discovering all the Band has to offer! Secondly,to give each Order the opportunity to introduce their theme, their members and the activities they do together and what being a Knight is.

This program provides several opportunities! First, a new member is immediately involved through activities in the Cavalry and the Band. Second, this creates the opportunity for actively involving the current members to be active and interactive, continuing to build friendships started with these new folks when they were RRs. Third, this will help to activate and build up the Order of Knights by involving them as an entire group to play and work together. Finally, this is a fair way to introduce the Orders and give the Cavalry member exposure to each one so that they can make a choice of the Order they aspire to and continue their involvement as a Squire.

During a Rider's time as a Page, they can be given tasks, but the emphasis is on activities that introduce each Order's personality and theme and interacting with the members of that Order. This is especially important since not all orders have Master Spammers so may not be as visible or known about or if during their time as a RR they didn't get to meet everyone in the Regiment! The Page may also be asked to involve themselves in the Band in a way that RR time didn't offer, such as signing up for the Lottery, posting in the Quotes Board or joining in on the Fun and Games board. They may also be directed to participate in one of the music discussions at DM. This way the new Band member is introduced to the many ways Banders are involved beyond their new regiment! Don't be surprised to find the CG sending the Pages running with messages or gifts, announcements or even issuing a challenge for the Page!

At the conclusion of their three weeks as a Page the new Rider is asked to write a JoTS of declaration. Three versus that proclaim the Order of Knighthood they aspire too. The final activity of a Page is to participate in a Squire's Vigil with a Knight of their declared Order! Enter as a Page, leave as a Squire!

Three weeks of fun and getting to know your new home in the Band. That's what the Page Program is all about!
